|Field trips are an extension of the classroom and are allowed for all grades. The field trips vary annually depending on the curriculum and resources that are available. Some of the events that students have participated in are listed below.
- Pre-Kindergarten: Harvey Rabbit, Dentist’s office, hospital, Zoo of Acadiana, restaurant, fire safety presentation, pet care, weather presentation by meteorologist
- Kindergarten:Harvey Rabbit, Body Walk, Christmas ballet, fire safety presentation, 100 day celebration, Thanksgiving Feast, St. Nicholas custom celebration, Christmas program, food group and nutrition presentation, dental health care presentation.
- Other Elementary Grade levels: Ballet performance, The Children’s Museum, Easter Hat Parade, Zoo of Acadiana, Native American Pow-Wow, pumpkin decorating contest, Vermillionville, Mardi Gras pet parade, Easter bunny decorating contest, DARE Honors Day (Burton Coliseum)
- Houston Museum of Natural Science, Hammond Renaissance Festival, Egyptian museum, community essays, NIE week, Greek mythology research project, people helping people scrapbook, Mardi Gras poster contest, recycling project, ballet, plays, Fall and /or Spring Retreat, Black History Week, poetry competition, Living Way of the Cross, kindergarten/eighth grade little/buddy program, Earth Day Celebration, Holocaust Remembrance, “Newbery Books Talk”, Pep Rallies
